About

Garabet and Nigoğayos Balyan, the architects of Dolmabahçe Palace, built it in the 1850s on the waterfront, where the Bosphorus Bridge now rises behind it. Inside, the calligraphy panels are attributed to Sultan Abdülmecid I himself.
